growler

[grou-ler] noun

Informal. a pitcher, pail, or other container brought by a customer for beer.

A growler (/ˈɡraʊlər/) is a glass, ceramic, or stainless steel jug used to transport draft beer in the United States and Canada. They are commonly sold at breweries and brewpubs as a means to sell take-out craft beer.

Here is a great article that explains more about growlers and the history behind them. http://www.beeradvocate.com/articles/384/

Our patented Keg Cap™ is an amazing accessory designed to keep your beer fresher/longer after the growler has been opened. It can usually stretch out a growler for 3-5 days after it has been opened, we’ve even had some of our customers write in to tell us it lasted 7 days or more.

You can fill up your DrinkTanks Growler with anything your taste buds desire. They’re beer growlers, but you can also use them for hot drinks such as coffee, cocoa, milk and tea which will not impart flavors or stain the bottle. Acidic fruit juices are also fine as are beer, wine, spirits, sodas, and duh, water.

12 hours hot, 24 hours cold- guaranteed! All DrinkTanks Growlers have a double-wall construction with an insulating vacuum between the chambers. This highly effective thermal technology keeps iced drinks ice cold for up to 24 hours and hot drinks piping hot for up to 12 hours, with no condensation or sweating. And best of all, no metal or plastic flavors!

We recommend you fill and transport your growler with the Standard Cap. Your beer will stay fresh and pressurized with the Standard Cap until the seal is broken (much like a can until it is opened). After you have opened your growler and poured off a beer, make sure to cap it with the Keg Cap to ensure fresh brew for up to a week.

Depending on your state’s laws, you can fill at endless amounts of breweries, fill stations, etc.

The laws vary greatly from state to state and a compiled list of your state’s laws can be found here: http://www.brewersassociation.org/government-affairs/laws/growler-laws/
